Two anniversaries: contra-Jane Eyre

No one I know today will remember with me: on December 3, 1962 I was married for the first time. 50 years ago. Then on April 16, 1968, reader, I divorced him.  44 years ago.

I do remember each and every year, year in,and  year out. This is though the first time I've put it on a blog.

My good friend:

"In another of those odd things we have in common, this coming August will be the Golden (hah!) Anniversary of my wedding to my first husband! Don't remember the divorce date, but the marriage lasted two years. Although it was loveless and disposable, this long ago, forgotten marriage did produce something important - what you have so truly called my own golden treasure: my son Paul."

So 50 years ago this August you married for the first time. I did marry earlier than you in literal age and since you're a year older than me, we again cross. My first marriage produced nothing tangible. I did, starting around the time I was 18, begin college, and not long after that my first husband moved out. So I had some 3 years alone, growing up. I began to go to Manhattan: I'd go to the Met museum lectures at 11:00 am on Thursdays, to the Thalia once a week too. Finding my way and discovering myself. I went to Juarez, Mexico for my divorce so it's memorable. I was divorced in Spanish.
